STO Cranks up Season 5

E-mail Print

thumb_STOEp5With free-to-play a little more than a month away, Cryptic's managed to squeeze in one more big update to Star Trek Online. Season 5: Call to Arms is now live, and brings with it enough new features to make even a Klingon in a tribble nursery happy.

The biggest advancement is probably the Duty Officer System, which allows captains to take a more personal approach to managing their non-bridge-crew personnel, both on and off the ship. Klingons also get a full storyline and start at level 21, and a revamped mission journal will make it easier for captains to find and get to the action. You can read about these and all the other new changes, such as the ongoing saga of the fight against the Borg, here.

At the same time, STO Executive Producer Stephen D'Angelo has updated his dev blog, where he talks about the new update and goes into detail about some of the lesser, but equally welcome, changes.
