Gamespot is reporting that EA/BioWare claimed two million players sampled Star Wars: The Old Republic during its beta testing period, which ended Sunday evening. Of that number, 725,000 unique players checked out the game over Thanksgiving weekend alone. Hey, it beat playing Pictionary with the family.
Each player reportedly played 12 hours over the weekend, making for a total of around nine million hours of gametime. That computes out to just under 1,000 years of time spent in the game. With previously published reports saying that the game would require 1.5 million subscribers to remain profitable, having two million unique players in beta seems like a good sign for long-term success.
