Since its launch last month, Final Fantasy XIV has had its share of good and bad reviews. Acknowleding this "constructive feedback," and in the effort to appease disgruntled players, Square Enix is offering an extra month of free play for FFXIV players who create a character before Oct. 25, extending the 30-day free trial period to 60 days.
We would like to assure players that the world of FINAL FANTASY XIV is constantly growing and evolving, and the voices of the community are essential to that process. The development and management teams are carefully considering all player feedback, and working diligently to implement whatever changes and additions will serve to make Eorzea a better home for adventurers. We humbly ask for your continued support to this end.
Considering the number of games that have "launched" lately with major problems -- and seen their userbase evaporate before changes could be implemented -- it's kind of refreshing to see such speedy action being undertaken in response to criticism. Whether Square Enix can address the biggest problems with its game to make everyone happy in one month seems a little dubious, though. Click here for full details on the offer.
